If you want to know what to do after your Plagiarism check has caught someone stealing your content, have a look at John Cow’s article on How to Deal with People who are Stealing your Content.
He gives some common sense ideas on how to cope when your Plagiarism check has found someone that has stolen your content.
In particular he mentions
One free web based tool that you may want to use when checking for plagiarism is CopyScape.
This searches the web for content that is the same as yours so hopefully you can keep an eye out for anyone trying to steal your content.
Another free tool is Plagiarism Checker
These are also useful tools for you to use to make sure that the content that you’ve created is unique.
This is especially the case if you are using PLR material.Not so much as a plagiarism check but more to make sure that your content isn’t the same as thousands of other articles out there.
You don’t want your article buried deep in a huge list of similar articles in the search results.
Is to use Google Alerts as I mention in this previous post.
I had a look around and put together 5 ways I found on How to Make Money with Google Adsense.
I created 5 bite size chunks. This is the last one.
This tip is a time saver especially if you:
You can automate the insertion of your Adsense code into the webpages using SSI (Server Side Includes).
If like me you’d never heard of SSI before, its not as frightening as is sounds.
Let me show you the benefits of it first and then I’ll provide a link where you can find out more info on how to use them.
If you have Adsense Ads on many pages on your website.
If you want to change their format such as their colour or layout, then you may be into a very long editing session.
You will need to replace your existing Adsense code on each of you pages with the new Adsense code you generated in your Google Account.
Unless…
The advantage of using SSI is that you can do this by just changing one file on your web server and then every page on your website that uses that file will show your new format Adsense Ads.
One of the first things you will need to do is ask your web administrator if your server supports SSI or not.
If it does, just save the Adsense code you generated in your Google account in a text file, such as “adsensecode.shtml”, and upload it to the root directory of your web server.
Then for every page where you want to use that Adsense Ad, you simply use an SSI call that will load the Adsense code into your page like in the following example:
<!–#include virtual=”/adsensecode.shtml” –>
More details details on how to do this can be found here:
More background information here:
I found this email on this site from the Google Adsense team.
It mentions that Google allows scripts that insert Adsense code into your pages.
But only if …
they do not modify the Adsense code that you created in your Adsense account.
This is what Google says in the email:
“Please understand that scripts inserting ad code into pages are acceptable if they do not modify the ad code from your account.”

Then you may want to try Adsense Section Targeting to try and get the Ads that are being show more relevant to your content and so more likely to be clicked on by your visitors.
The official explanation is on Google’s Adsense Help Page:
“What is section targeting and how do I implement it”
In it they say:
“Section targeting allows you to suggest sections of your text and HTML content that you’d like [Google] to take into account or downplay when matching ads to your site’s content”
Section Targeting lets you show Google which parts of your page you want them to use when deciding which Adsense Ads are best matched to the content on your page.
It also means that you can also show Google which parts of the page you don’t want them to use when deciding which Adsense Ads to show.
Examples of the code to use can be seen below.
This example show how to highlight sections in your content that you want Google to use for Adsense matching:
<html>
<head>
<title>Section Targeting Example</title>
</head>
<body>
<!– google_ad_section_start –>
This is the text of your webpage. Most of your content resides here.
<!– google_ad_section_end –>
</body>
</html>
If you want to highlight sections that you want Google to ignore then add (weight=ignore) to the starting tag as follows:
<!– google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) –>

Make Money with Google Adsense Part 5
Like me you may be struggling hard to make money online from your Adsense Earnings.
So I took a look around and found 5 Ways to help Make Money with Google Adsense.
Rather than bombard you with one long boring post, I’ve split it into 5 bite size chunks so here we go with Part 3.
Do not try to hide your Adsense sections.
Don’t bury them at the bottom of your pages where your visitors may never go.
Put them in places where people can see them quickly.
One of the main tips I’ve found is to place your Adsense ads above the fold.
This is an old newspaper term that meant placing your best items on the upper half of the front page.
This is because most papers are delivered and displayed folded with only the top half of the front page being visible, so stories or adverts in this portion get maximum visibility.
In a similar way, in computer terms it means putting items nearer the top of a web page which for most visitors will be seen without having to scroll down.
See Google’s Adsense help page
Where should I place Google ads on my pages ?
This shows a “heat map” which illustrates the ideal places on a web page for your Adsense Ads that may help you improve your Adsense Earnings.
However they also mention:
“We strongly recommend putting your users first when deciding on ad location.
Think about their behaviour on different pages, and what will be most useful and visible to them.
You’ll find that the most optimal ad position isn’t always what you expect on certain pages”

Like me you may be struggling hard to make money online from your Adsense Earnings.

Choose a color that will go well with the background of your site.
If your site has a white background, try to use white as the color of your ad border and background.
The idea to customising the colors is to make the Adsense ads blend into the background of your web page, similar to the live example you can see below.
Again, this will help produce more clicks from people visiting your site.
I’ve tried to choose colors in the above Adsense Ads that match the overall theme of this blog and so hopefully blend with the page.
You can compare it with my default example in my first post on this

Make Money with Google Adsense Part 3
If you want to monetize your websites, a great way to Make Money is with Google Adsense.
However, like me, you may be struggling hard to make money online from your Adsense Earnings.
So I took a look around and found 5 Ways to help Make Money with Google Adsense.
Rather than bore you with one long post, I’ve split it into 5 bite size chunks.
So without further ado lets get started with Part 1
One format that seems to be one of the most popular is the text Large Rectangle (336X280) as can be seen in this live example that I’ve embedded below:
From what I’ve learned this format tends to result in higher CTR (Click Through Rates).
The thinking behind it is that it’s mainly because these ads look like normal web links.
As people have become used to clicking on web links they tend to click on these types of links without thinking.
They may or may not know or care that they are clicking on your Adsense links but at the end of the day a click is a click and it will be to your advantage.

If the theories in this article are correct you may be finding adverts on Twitter in the not too distant future.
I stumbled across it the other day and it does makes you think about how Twitter could evolve.
It discusses the Pros & Cons of the following ways Twitter could use to generate cash:

What are your thoughts on Twitter using Advertising ?
Would you stop using Twitter if Advertising crept in ?
Continuing on my theme of how to use Google Alerts, I came across another use the other day.
I was reading this Using Google Alerts to Build Links article and about halfway down it mentioned a great way of using alerts to keep track of who is using your articles.
By setting up a Google Alert for each of your articles you will be alerted every time Google finds a site using your article.
For the alert you could use either:
This could help you find out
which is a good way of seeing if your efforts are paying off.
You can check out the site that is using your article.
Then if you think it may help bring you more traffic, offer them more articles or links to your website pages that may be of interest to their readers.
